Майкл Райан отметил, сейчас снова наблюдается пик заболевших COVID-19. Эксперт ВОЗ заявил, в Северном полушарии идеальная ситуация для распространения пандемии. Морозы, которые пришли, способствуют распространению инфекции.
«Люди скапливаются в помещениях, появились новые штаммы, распространяющиеся быстрее. Все это приводит к увеличению заболевших», — сказал Майкл Райан.
Он напомнил, за все время в мире инфицировалось более 90 миллионов человек. 2 миллиона человек скончались от COVID-19. За минувшие сутки во всем мире положительный тест на коронавирус оказался у полумиллиона человек, а количество погибших приблизилось к 10 тысячам.
Специалисты ВОЗ отправились в Ухань, где будут изучать COVID-19. Сейчас эксперты находятся на 14-дневной обсервации в Китае.
Заявления Майкла Райана не подтверждаются российской статистикой. Пик заболевших пришелся на 24 декабря, когда в России было выявлено почти 30 тысяч заболевших. В тот же день погибло рекордное количество человек – 635. Ситуация со скончавшимися также стабилизировалась. 11 января умерло 436 человек, что является минимумом с 30 ноября 2020.
